Welcome to the Dennis Ruyer site
Every once in a while a new discovery makes people smile and dance the night away...
I'm aware of the fact that every Wednesday, thousands of people from around the globe tune in when the most popular Dutch dance radio show 'Dance Department' releases its weekly podcast.
Every Saturday night, eight hours of the best dance records and DJ sets are making magic nationwide from 8pm to 4am CET, on Radio538, the number #1 radio station in Holland.
Over one million listeners join me to celebrate the life, love, leisure and of course the best dance music on the planet.
Since September 2005, the Dance Department podcast has been gaining popularity like crazy and is currently one of the top podcasts of the continent, with 4 million downloads and counting.
In terms of deejaying, I play at some intimate parties in the Netherlands on a regular basis, to keep in touch with dance floors and their ambassadors.
I'm currently collaborating with Dance Department partner in crime PrinsJan - raving against the machines in a World War II nazi bunker, trying to make the world an even funkier hangout place than it already is.
It all started with a radio show on my very own local pirate radio station at the age of 11. After a few years of playing cat-and-mouse with the local police force, I got hired at national radio station Veronica FM. In 2000 I started a new career by joining forces at a young, fresh and new radio station called Radio 538 .
Dance Department is the most listened to dance music show on Dutch national radio and the internet. Dance Department makes a statement because we only play the finest dance music the world has to offer.
